Are you using your fear as a security blanket?
And if not “fear”, can you substitute a feeling that you struggle against but if you really stop to think about it, you might be the one grasping onto it?
I had a crazy revelation during a visioning NLP process.
For so long I have felt shackled to fear- as if it was an anchor holding me down against my will.
But through this exercise I realized that I have been holding onto fear for dear life. Keeping it as close as possible because letting go of it felt like letting go of my identity and the most important relationships in my life.
I realized that for me, fear is love.
Fear means love.
Fear is “doing your due diligence”.
It means you care enough to think 147 steps ahead of where you are to consider and anticipate any harm that might occur and be proactive in the way of steering the ship to avoid it. To protect my loved ones and myself.
What I truly did not realize until 2 nights ago is that subconsciously, it felt like letting go of fear was betrayal to those I love most.
Ouch. It hurt to see this.
And you know what pisses me off?
How fucking obvious it all is to me now.
But more than being pissed at missing something that now feels obvious and somehow instantly turned something from a scary ambiguous mount everest into a rolling hill on the countryside- I feel relief. excitement. empathy & compassion.
My whole life of this dynamic- my relationship with this word/feeling/state.
Demystified. Dismantled. Decoded.
By sitting down, getting still, and closing my eyes to see.
During this particular moment I had a guide walking me through this visualization NLP process, but I have had other truly powerful experiences that helped bring so much clarity to me. What was the common thread?
Me.
Sitting still.
Closing my eyes.
And becoming present to a vision I always had/have/will have.
