Capturing Beautiful, Ordinary Motherhood with Michelle McKay

Time can be so elusive in general. As a mother, we are in a special kind of constant maelstrom of all the things. You think you are seeing your special moments but oftentimes we are caught in the dreaded "can't see the forest through the trees". Your mundane, exhausting everyday all of a sudden vanishes and you are left mourning the rose colored memories. How do we muster the energy to maintain our awareness of these special moments before they're gone forever?

Michelle McKay comes on to chat about what she felt when she was surprised by an old photo of her breastfeeding her baby- the only photograph that was haphazardly captured of that beautiful and intimate nursing season for her.

Michelle is a mama, lover, and memory catcher from Geelong,  Australia. 

As well as making it her mission to create a lasting, artful and meaningful record of this beautiful ordinary life, Michelle runs a thriving in-home photography business, and is an online educator of all things in-home photography and memory catching. 

She hosts a community many thousands strong world wide, creates editing presets, runs courses on the art of photography, and has taught at acclaimed retreats such as the much loved Milky Way Newborn Retreat. 

Michelle’s artistic style is inspired by a combination of lifestyle, documentary, and photojournalistic approaches, and she is a devout believer that you should always always always take the picture.
